With a view to protecting the juniors from the scourge of ragging in colleges, the district administration has called upon the principals to work in close coordination with the police.
At a meeting held here recently, District Collector V. Sampath told the principals to keep a watch on the behaviour of students, particularly that of seniors towards the new entrants.
If they come across any incidence of ragging they could immediately pass on the message to the Deputy Superintendents of Police concerned.
The DSPs would initiate appropriate action against those indulging in ragging.
The Collector gave the list of the DSPs and their contact numbers to the principals to facilitate speedy communication.
