The Communist Party of India on Saturday demanded a White Paper from the Central government on the import of crude oil and said that the government should come out transparently with the prices at which it bought oil from the international market.
Speaking at a protest meeting here condemning the hike in prices of kerosene, diesel and LPG, CPI national secretary D. Raja said that the Congress-led UPA government was trying to hoodwink the people by putting the blame on high international prices of crude oil for the hike in petroleum products in the domestic market. “The government should come out with the prices at which it bought oil from the international market, the amount spent on refining such oil and the taxes imposed on petroleum products.”
