S. Srinivasan, the film actor known as ‘Power Star,’ appeared before the Judicial Magistrate Court here in connection with a cheating case on Wednesday, and obtained bail.

Based on a complaint from Rajasekar, Regional Transport Officer, Virudhunagar, a case was registered against Mr.Srinivasan and five others in Thiruthangal police station on April 24, 2001 under Sections 466, 471, 474 of the Indian Penal Code for using a car with the registration number of a tractor meant for transporting sand between 1997 and 2000.

As Mr. Srinivasan did not appear before the court whenever the case was taken up for hearing, an arrest warrant was issued against him. He appeared before Judicial Magistrate R. Joy Joseph on Wednesday and submitted two sureties. The Magistrate directed him to appear before the court on November 13 and adjourned the case.
