More than 100 persons who have invested in the contract poultry farming scheme of Greenlife Poultry Farms blocked the traffic at Panneerselvam park area in Erode on Tuesday alleging that a few personnel at the Economic Offences Wing beat three women investors and refusing to receive their complaints against the firm.

The persons, a majority of them from Coimbatore district, arrived in Erode to register complaints with the wing as the firm had failed to pay the monthly maintenance charges. The firm collected Rs. 1.5 lakh as deposit from the investors and promised to pay a sum of Rs. 8,000 as the monthly maintenance charges.

Investors wanted the personnel at the wing to register the complaints given by every investor against the firm and initiate appropriate steps to retrieve their investment. Police officials rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators. Traffic was affected for a short period.
