A delegation of representatives of eight political parties in Tamil Nadu on Monday urged the Election Commission to conduct an enquiry into the deletion of names of 25,000 voters from the electoral roll in Pennagaram Assembly constituency, where by-poll is due.

While the names of genuine voters were deleted, the names of those favouring the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam were included in the list with the connivance of officials, alleged the delegation, led by All India Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam president N. Sethuraman, which met Deputy Election Commissioner J.P. Prakash here.

Mr. Prakash confirmed that he had received the complaint and would forward it to the Full Commission for appropriate action.
