Police seize ganja, tobacco meant for smuggling to Sri Lanka

Two persons were arrested for attempting to smuggle ganja, tobacco and tobacco-based products to Sri Lanka on Wednesday, police said.

The “Q” branch of the Tamil Nadu police raided a mechanized fishing boat anchored in the waters in a suspicious manner and seized five bags of ganja, two bags of tobacco-based products and 8 kg of snuff powder.

The team seized the boat and a van used for transporting it, the police said besides arresting two persons.
