Police review preparedness

The Commissioner of Police Karan Singha held a meeting, prior to his transfer, on Saturday evening with top officials from Transport and Revenue Departments and Fire and Rescue Services to review the preparedness in view of indefinite strike called by transport employees unions from tomorrow.

As per a decision taken at the meeting, adequate number of police personnel under respective officers will be deployed before the CMBT, head office of Metropolitan Transport Corporation on Pallvan Salai, bus depots and stops. The police control rooms will function in close co-ordination and render quick services to public. Recovery vehicles will be stationed at mportant junctions. Revenue officials and Regional Transport officials will be on duty.
