The Chennai Police have issued a show-cause to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association seeking its explanation on the measures taken to manage the crowd in the event of the three stands in the M.A. Chidambaram stadium being closed to public on Tuesday.

Since thousands of tickets have already been sold for the Chennai Super Kings-Delhi Daredevils match, the police sought to know the steps taken if the I, J and K stands remained sealed. The police have issued a Public Resort Licence to the TNCA to conduct the IPL 2013 matches here.

“We want to know the status of ticket-holders. The TNCA has to explain whether it will refund the tickets or make arrangements for alternative accommodation,” a police official said.
