PMK too will go it alone in LS polls

“All communities have borne the brunt of inter-caste marriages’’

Reiterating his party’s decision to go it alone in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Pattali Makkal Katchi leader S. Ramadoss on Monday asked DMK leader M. Karunanidhi to take a cue from the AIADMK, which has ruled out alliance for the elections, and contest independently.

Addressing the party general council, Dr. Ramadoss and his son and former Union Minister Anbumani said there was no truth in the “campaign” that the PMK had been sidelined in Tamil Nadu politics in the wake of Dharmapuri incidents and the PMK’s campaign against “love marriages” and “misuse of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.”

“On the other hand, it has been gaining ground and will prove its strength in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. It will become a ruling party after the 2016 Assembly elections,” Dr. Anbumani said.

“All communities have borne the brunt of inter-caste marriages’’, Dr Ramadoss said.
