PMK leader S. Ramadoss on Thursday condemned the Human Resource Ministry’s decision to stop teaching German as the third language instead of Sanskrit in Kendriya Vidyalayas.

HRD Minister Smriti Irani, while chairing the 99th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, decided that German language as an option to Sanskrit would be discontinued herewith.

Dr. Ramadoss said that while the three-language formula allowed schools to teach Hindi, English and an Indian language, Tamil was never taught in the Kendriya Vidyalayas in North India and even such schools in South India taught only Sanskrit. .
