Pattali Makkal Katchi has fielded C. Palanichamy (47) for Vedasandur Assembly constituency and R. Parasuraman (40) for Dindigul constituency on Monday.
An agriculturist, Mr. Palanichamy started his political career as union secretary. A first-time contestant, he faces AIADMK debutant V.P.B. Paramasivam. Mr. Parusaraman, a document writer, started his political career in 1995 as party member and was elevated to post of Dindigul union leader in 2001. Later, he served as district secretary and was elected unanimously as Adiyanuthu panchayat president in 2006. He also served as president of a cooperative society. He faces AIADMK veteran and four-time MP C. Seenivasan.
Theni
The PMK has fielded Pon. Katchi Kannan for Cumbum constituency. A native of Surulipatti and an agriculturist, he joined the party in 1994. He was promoted as Cumbum union secretary in 1996 and Theni district secretary in 1998. In 2005, he was given the post of State agriculture wing joint secretary.
