Question papers sent to halls and answer sheets brought to strong rooms safely

As many as 22,456 candidates in Dindigul district and 15,157 candidates in Theni district took Plus Two examinations that commenced on Thursday.

In Dindigul, there were 159 absentees on the first day.

Collector T.N. Hariharan inspected the examination centres at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School and Annamalaiyar Higher Secondary School in the town.

All arrangements were made to dispatch question papers to the halls and bring back answer sheets to strong rooms safely. Sufficient force was also deployed to provide adequate security to the 64 examination centres and vehicles transporting answer sheets, he said.

Special assistance was given to visually impaired students. Flying squads comprising 164 officials monitored the examination centres, he added.

Theni

In Theni, there were 43 examination centres. About 126 students, including 71 regular students and 55 private candidates, did not attend the examination on the first day.

Ramanathapuram

In Ramanathapuram, 14,993 students, including 7,973 girls, appeared for the examination in 45 centres. About 200 flying squads made surprise visits to various centres in Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga districts to ensure that the students did not indulge in copying or other malpractices.

A total of 15,983 students from the education districts of Sivaganga and Devakottai appeared for the examinations at 54 centres in Sivaganga district.

Collector T Munusamy visited St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and Mannar Higher Secondary School in Sivaganga and inspected the arrangements.
