Bharathi, who was badly injured on Wednesday, was rushed to Krishangiri Government Hospital and later to a hospital in Bengaluru. She was later admitted at the Government Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday evening.

N. Mohan, Dean, Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital, said that as the wounds had caused serious injuries on nose and near the eyes, anti-rabies immune globulin was administered immediately on the wounds to prevent the rabies.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Sivakumar. The skin was mobilised from the adjacent areas of the face and the same was used to close the wounds, Dr. Mohan said.
