Members of the Tamil Nadu Association for the Rights of All Types of Differently Abled and Caregivers (TARATDAC) went on a protest demonstration here on Tuesday urging that their 20-point charter of demands be met.

The protesters called for allocation of sufficient funds for schemes announced by the government. In many instances, Government Orders had been passed but there were insufficient funds when it came to actual implementation, S.Namburajan of TARATDAC, said. They demanded that the State issue a white paper on the actual number of disabled persons who had been given government job. Though it had been announced that identity cards would be provided to all persons who were differently abled, only about 6 lakh persons had been given the cards. If there is no response within a fortnight, members will resort to picketing throughout the State, Mr. Namburajan added.
