Perarivalan undergoes medical check-up

Perarivalan, a life convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, lodged in the Central Prison, Vellore underwent a voluntary medical check-up at the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital (GVMCH) in Adukkamparai near here on Thursday.

According to hospital sources, Perarivalan underwent orthopaedic and neurological test, while his blood, urine and stool were also tested at the hospital. All parameters were found normal. Prison sources said that Perarivalan had sought a voluntary medical test at the GVMCH. On approval of his request, he was taken to the hospital a little after 8 a.m. and brought back to the prison at 12 p.m. after the medical check-up.
