People want change, says PMK

March 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - TIRUNELVELI:

Pattali Makkal Katchi president G.K. Mani has appealed to the people to extend support to the party in the 2016 Assembly election.

Addressing media persons here on Sunday evening, he said the people had been frustrated with the way the government was run in the State and the corruption on all fronts. The people had been expecting a change of guard. Total prohibition of liquor would be effected once the PMK was voted to power, he said.

Mr. Mani said Anbumani Ramadoss, party’s youth wing leader and Dharmapuri MP, would meet party cadres and the public in southern districts from March 25.

He appealed to the State government to take immediate measures to ensure adequate water supply to the people during summer. Check dams should be constructed across the Tamirabarani to prevent flow of excess water into sea, he noted.

He sought a CBI enquiry into the death of Agricultural Engineering Department Executive Engineer S. Muthukumarasamy in Tirunelveli.
