Admirers of Jayalalithaa and workers of the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) are thronging the mausoleum of the former Chief Minister on Tuesday on the occasion of her first death anniversary.

Deputy Chief Minister and coordinator of the AIADMK, O. Panneerselvam administered a pledge to his colleagues, including Chief Minister and Edappadi K. Palaniswami and party members. Mr. Panneerselvam exhorted the party cadres to ensure the continuance of the AIADMK government and work for success in all future elections.

A number of hoardings have been put up on the Kamaraj Salai, along the Marina Beach and at other locations in the city. The observance of the anniversary has affected traffic on Anna Salai and Poonnamalle High Road, subjecting people to hardship.
