The Assembly elections is a battle between ‘good’ and ‘evil’ and the people should extend support to good candidates to form the government in the State, said Vijayakant, founder of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK).

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) were evil forces by all means, he said.

The only interest of both these parties and their leaders is to indulge in corrupt practices and amass wealth, Mr. Vijaykant said addressing an election meeting in Namakkal town on Wednesday evening.

He came down heavily against the AIADMK regime for commercialising education and turning a blind eye to indiscriminate sand mining in the rivers.

The AIADMK did not fulfil even a single assurance given during the last elections, he complained.

Mr. Vijayakant also questioned Ms. Jayalalithaa for not uttering even a single word against the BJP and the BJP-led Central government.

Ms. Jayalalithaa was lashing out at the DMK, but not speaking against the BJP. “Her priority at present is to escape from the disproportionate assets case, hence she is not coming out openly against BJP,” he said.

He blamed the people for all the evils confronting them. The people cast their votes after collecting money and without applying their mind in the last elections and were bearing the consequences.

He urged the voters not to get lured this time.

He introduced the candidates of DMDK-PWF of the constituencies in Namakkal district.
