‘People having a torrid time under EPS regime’

It has been a year of tribulations: TTV

The people of Tamil Nadu had a torrid time during the first year of the Edappadi K. Palaniswami-led AIADMK government’s reign, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) leader and R.K. Nagar MLA T.T.V. Dhinakaran said here on Saturday.

Speaking to mediapersons, Mr. Dhinakaran said that while Mr. Palaniswami was celebrating the completion of one year in office, the people were lamenting their fate under his regime. In fact, they were ridiculing his ‘achievements’, and for them, it had been a year of misrule and tribulations, he claimed.

The present government was nothing but an anti-people regime, and would be removed from power soon, Mr. Dhinakaran said.

“The people of Tamil Nadu cannot expect the Cauvery Management Board to be constituted until the Assembly elections in Karnataka are over. The State government should have approached the Supreme Court with a review petition to set right certain anomalies in the Cauvery verdict, but is yet to do that, which is wrong,” he said.

Though the Central government had cut 90% of the grants for the State, the leaders here were afraid to speak out. The BJP should understand that it was only because of Dravidian rule that the State was able to prosper, and should stop criticising Dravidian politics, Mr. Dhinakaran said.
