Pass percentage in Namakkal improves

The overall pass percentage of schools in the district in the SSLC examinations has improved from 96 in 2015-16 to 96.54 in 2016-17.

Of the total 23,433 students appeared for the SSLC examinations from 309 schools, 22,623 came out with flying colours with 157 schools scoring all-pass.

While the pass percentage in boys stood at 96.03, the pass percentage of girls was 97.12.

The number of schools that registered all-pass has increased from 146 last year to 157 this year.

That includes 49 government schools (42 last year).

Subject-wise pass percentage is language 98.23, English 99.07, mathematics 97.75, science 99.77, and social science 99.15.

Of the total 11,344 students from 143 government school, 10,737 cleared their examinations. The pass percentage improved from 93.82 in 2015-16 to 94.65 this year.

Namakkal has improved its rank position from 11 to 10.

The performance of tribal schools continues to be poor. The pass percentage in Government Tribal Residential, Senkarai in Kolli Hills is 77, Mullukurichi 78, and Valavanthinadu is 89.

The tribal school at Mullukurichi has improved to 94%.

The pass percentage in Model School, Kolli Hills is 86, Government Adi Dravidar Welfare HSS, Kalangani 98, Model School, Ramapuram 100, and NMSA HSS for Differently Abled, Ethirmedu 100.
