T.T.V. Dhinakaran, R.K. Nagar MLA, on Sunday said Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam was speaking out of frustration as he is unable to become the Chief Minister.

He was referring to Mr. Panneerselvam’s statement that Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked him to merge his faction with Edappadi K. Palaniswami. “Nobody ever thought that the AIADMK will split as it is today. Being supporters of ‘Amma’, we won an election after contesting as independent. This is the result of his (O. Panneerselvam) desire for power,” he told reporters at Ranipet. He said that Mr. Panneerselvam and Mr. Palaniswami were functioning like “agents of the BJP”. Mr. Dhinkaran said unlike Mr. Palaniswami and Mr. Panneerselvam, he will become a Chief Minister after fielding candidates in all the 234 constituencies of the State and winning by majority.

He said the Centre, as per the court direction, should form the Cauvery Management Board to implement the verdict on Cauvery water.
