The next round of talks between the panels constituted by the Central Government and the Tamil Nadu Government on the Kudankulam plant issue is likely to be held next week, Union Minister of State (Prime Minister's Office) V. Narayanasamy said here on Sunday.
“The committee, constituted by the State Government, with representatives from the agitators, has raised a set of questions for which the scientists in the Central panel are preparing the response at present,” he added.
Speaking on the “Importance of Nuclear Energy in India's Development” at a programme organised by the Desiya Murasu Vasagar Vattam, the Minister wondered why the protestors should continue their agitation even after the two panels had met and agreed to hold talks again.
He appealed to political parties and also religious heads to desist from fishing in troubled waters.He also urged the protestors not to indulge in “false and mischievous propaganda.”
Wondering how the protestors could manage to spend so much of money on the agitation by transporting the “so-called agitators” even from far-off places, the Minister wanted them to “show proper accounts, how they have collected so much of money and who donated. When you (agitators) are asking us questions, is it wrong on our part to demand some answers?” he countered.
