Panel reviews development work in Perambalur

Members of the Estimates Committee of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, headed by A.Pappasundaram, Kulithalai MLA, inspected the Government Headquarters Hospital here on Friday.

They inspected the dialysis unit and checked the functioning of the equipment. Collector Darez Ahamed told the committee that dialysis procedure has been done on 2,900 patients since 2012.

Thanga Tamilselvan (Andipatti MLA), S.Kamaraj (Krishnarayapuram MLA), V.Ponnupadni (Srivilliputhur MLA), and R.Annadurai (Madurai South MLA) were the members of the committee. The committee inspected the anganwadi centre maintained under the Integrated Child Development Scheme at Sangupettai.

They enquired about the number of pregnant women and mothers served by the centre. The team inspected the kitchen and enquired whether egg is given to children with their food.

They inspected the Thuraiyur-Perambalur and Perambalur-Alampadi connecting road being laid at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh.

They inspected the backward class students’ hostel at Senjeri village and checked the quality of food served in the hostel. The committee inspected the underground drainage works in Perambalur.

Later the committee reviewed the progress of development works taken up last year.
