Over 8,000 candidates appear for SI recruitment examination

To fill vacant posts in Tiruvannamalai and Vellore districts

As many as 2,965 candidates from Tiruvannamalai district and 5,146 from Vellore district sat for the examination to fill the vacant posts of Sub Inspector of police, on Saturday. .

In Tiruvannamalai district, examinations were held in three venues namely Arunai Engineering College, Arunai College of Engineering and Kamban College of Arts and Science for women.

Out of 3,418 total candidates 453 are absentees. Superintendent of Police J.Mutharasi inspected the centres.

In Vellore district, examinations were held in C. Abdul Hakkeem Engineering College, Women’s College and Arts and Science College.

Out of 5,947 candidates called for the exams 801 are absentees.

Deputy Inspector General of Police R.Tamil Chandran and Superintendent of Police P.K.Senthil Kumari inspected the exam centres.

The Saturday’s exam was meant for general candidates.

On Sunday, another phase of the exam meant to fill the same sub inspector of police vacancies will be held, in which only candidates from police department would take part.
