Over 7,300 candidates take up examination for SI posts in Salem

More than 1,200 applicants failed to turn up for the examination

As many as 7,326 candidates took up the written examination for the post of Sub-Inspectors held in five centres in the district on Saturday.

The Tamil Nadu Unified Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) had conducted the examination across the State for filling up 1,078 vacancies of Sub-Inspector of Police in TN Police Subordinate Services for 2015.

The examination was held at Vysya College, AVS College, Shri Sakthikailassh Women’s College, CSI Polytechnic and Jayaram College of Arts and Science. Superintendent of Police G. Subbulakshmi monitored the overall arrangements and inspected the centres.

City Police Commissioner A. Amalraj inspected the centres in the city.

A total of 1,235 applicants failed to attend the examination held on Saturday.

Officials said that candidates selected in the written examination would be subjected to next level of process including certificate verification, physical measurement test, endurance test, and physical efficiency test.
