A total of 42,438 students – 20,368 boys and 22,070 girls – will appear for the Plus Two board examinations commencing on Thursday in Vellore district.
According to officials, students from 306 schools will take the exams in 141 centres. The exams will end on March 31. The Education department has arranged for scribes for differently abled students. There are 42 scribes including for 29 visually challenged students and 12 with dyslexia.
There are eight private centres and one for those who had applied through tatkal scheme. A total of 325 flying squad members will inspect the centres to keep a check on malpractices, while 2,226 persons have been appointed as hall invigilators.
Squads headed by the Collector, zonal nodal officer, Chief Education Officer and other officials will also be on rounds during the examinations. The district has 20 custodian centres where question papers are kept.
Twenty-nine route officers will take the question papers from the custodian centres and hand them over to the exam centres. Similarly, they will collect the answer bundles.
Officials said all arrangements including for uninterrupted power supply for exam centres and drinking water facility had been made.
