DMK president M. Karunanidhi turns 90 on June 3, 2013. From a humble village activist to a firebrand dialogue writer, the patriarch’s powerful writing and oratory took him to great heights. Following the footsteps of his mentor C.N. Annadurai, he made the DMK a colossus in Tamil Nadu politics and slowly moved it to the national arena which paid rich dividends for many years.
