Over a lakh devotees from various parts of Tamil Nadu participated in the festival of Our Lady of Snows Basilica held on Friday.
Holy Mass was conducted continuously from 4.30 a.m. onwards, Bishop of Thoothukudi RC Diocese Most Rev. Fr. Yvon Ambroise celebrated the High Mass at 7.30 a.m. in which thousands of devotees from various parts of the district participated.
The district administration had declared a local holiday.
