All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MP from Mayiladuthurai O.S. Manian and Nagapattinam Municipal chairman M.P. Chandramohan, also from the AIADMK, were injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided head-on with another car at Urkudi near Tiruvarur on Sunday.
Two persons in the other car were killed in the accident.
According to the police, Mr. Manian was proceeding towards Tiruvarur from Needamangalam.
He is said to have sustained injuries on his head and leg. The deceased were returning to Tirunelveli from Karaikal and were identified as Jebaraj (30), driver of the car, and David Ponraj (30). Mr. Manian, Mr. Chandramohan, Vetri Alagan and Muthuramalingam, personal assistants to the MP, and Aandi Pillai, driver of the MP's car, have been admitted to a private hospital in Tiruvarur. Two other injured persons from the other vehicle, Jebaraj (26) and Anburaj from Tirunelveli, were admitted to the Tiruvarur Medical College Hospital.
