Organs of a 56-year-old man, who was declared brain dead at the Christian Medical College (CMC), were donated.
His kidneys, liver and eyes were harvested during the early hours of Saturday.
According to hospital authorities, E. Nagaraj, a resident of Sembium in Chennai, was critically injured in a road accident at Puthur in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh on January 4.
As his family consented to donate his organs, doctors harvested his kidneys, liver and eyes.
While the liver was allocated to the Apollo Children’s Hospital, Chennai, one of his kidneys was allotted to SIMS Hospital in Chennai.
The other kidney and eyes were allotted to the CMC.
