Former Union Minister M. K. Alagiri, recently expelled from the DMK, came down heavily on the party’s candidate for the Theni parliamentary constituency, Pon. Muthuramalingam, but surprisingly said his differences with his younger brother M.K. Stalin were only at the policy level.
Speaking at an ‘ear-piercing’ ceremony here on Wednesday, Mr. Alagiri chose to affirm his common bonds with the DMK Treasurer. “Brother Stalin and I had been working together in Thanjavur in the 1962 Assembly elections for the victory of Mr. Karunanidhi. We undertook a door-to-door campaign jointly. We have differences of opinion at policy level only,” he said.
