Onam festival is not just a festival to cherish, but a moment to reincarnate a past of prosperity and goodness.
Chendamelam performance along with ‘ghoshayathra’, photo exhibition, cultural programmes etc marked ‘the ‘Thiruvonapulari Elite’15’ Onam celebrations at the S.S.M. College of Engineering, Komarapalayam on Friday.
The celebrations commenced with the performance of Chendamelam by a special troupe in the morning. Girl students did pookalam and other floral works in the campus. Traditional feast was served to students, staff and workers on the campus.
M.S. Mathivanan, Chairman, SSM Educational Institutions, presided over the celebrations held in the evening. H. Krishnan Unni, Sub-Collector, Gobichettipalayam, was the chief guest.
J. Maheswaran, Principal, inaugurated the celebrations and K. Ramasamy, Director, SSM College of Arts and Science, offered felicitations. Students presented colourful cultural programmes at the end.
