Officials asked to increase turnout

Officials were asked to identify the low turnout polling stations in all the six constituencies in the last Assembly elections and create awareness among the electors so as to achieve 100 per cent polling in the coming election.

At a meeting held at collectorate on Monday, Manish Gautham, Central Awareness Observer (CAO), asked officials to identify the low turnout stations in the Assembly and Parliament elections in each of the assembly constituencies in the district. He asked them to create awareness among the electors so that all of them cast their votes and ensure 100 per cent polling. District Election Officer and Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy explained the various awareness programmes being carried out under the Systematic Voter Education for Electoral Participation programme. Additional District Election Officer and District Revenue Officer K. Palanisamy, returning officers were present.
