The Tamil Nadu Revenue Department (Group II) Direct Recruitment Officers Association has urged the State government to sensitise all newly-appointed government employees to corruption and clean administration at the Anna Institute of Management.
At its recent State Executive committee meeting, held here under the presidentship of State President V. Irulappan, the Association said that those who were appointed should undergo month-long training prior to their assuming office at the institute on the sensitive issue of corruption.
While thanking the State government for having taken a decision to fill vacant posts of Assistant under Group II category through direct recruitment, the executive further noted that the appointments should be made well in advance, especially before the beginning of electoral exercise for the forthcoming Assembly polls.
The interviews should be conducted immediately and selection list published so that the newly-recruited people could assume office from the beginning of the New Year.
It urged Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to make a retired Group II officer a member in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Council. Otherwise it would contest all the graduate constituencies with support from like-minded fora. The Association further urged its members to get their names registered in the electoral rolls for the council elections.
All transfers in Revenue Department should be made through counselling method as in the case of Village Administrative Officers.
