Nurses stage demonstration demanding pay parity

Hundreds of nurses from Government Medical College Hospital in Dharmapuri, Government Headquarters Hospitals in Krishnagiri, Pennagaram and taluk hospitals in two districts staged demonstration on Thursday demanding pay parity with their counterparts working in central government establishments etc.

The nurses staged an hour demonstration between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Thursday demanding to scrap the system of appointment of nurses on consolidated pay and change the consolidated period as their regular service.

They wore black batch agitation for the last one week. Office-bearers of the Nurses Association said, the one hour demonstration will continue till Saturday in front of the all the government hospitals in two districts.
