Nurses observe fast

The nurses affiliated to Tamil Nadu Government Village Health Nurses Association and Public Health Nurses Federation observed a fast at Jawahar Thidal, Palayamkottai here on Monday in support of their demands to be fulfilled.

The agitating nurses demanded that the government filled up as many as 2,500 vacancies for the position of village health nurse across Tamil Nadu at the earliest.

Adequate stock of medicines should be maintained in all health sub centres also. Taking into account the population, health sub centres should be created at all villages.

It was led by A. Pappa, State general secretary of the association.
