The second unit of NLC Tamil Nadu Power Limited (NTPL) resumed electricity production around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, sources said. The 500 MW capacity unit suffered a breakdown on Saturday after the boiler tube developed a puncture. The unit which resumed production generated 450 MW around 7 p.m., sources told The Hindu .
Besides, the first unit, also with a power generation capacity of 500 MW, suffered a breakdown on Sunday after the slack conveyor developed a problem.
A team of technical experts had been attending to the problem and they light up the unit to resume production soon, the sources said.
