The High Power Committee (HPC) for implementation of Sabarimala Master Plan has cleared the proposal to construct an officers’ accommodation block near Pandithavalam at Sabarimala Sannidhanam this year.

It has also decided to demolish the building that houses the media centre at Malikappuram to facilitate an open resting area for pilgrims.

According to official sources, the HPC, chaired by former Chief Secretary K. Jayakumar, took these decisions at a meeting on March 30.

The proposed accommodation block, estimated at Rs.6.5 crore, will have a conference hall and media rooms, besides accommodation facility for officers on duty.
