“No space for new parties”

March 04, 2014 12:15 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:35 pm IST - CHENNAI:

DMK president M. Karunanidhi is sceptical about inclusion of new political parties in the alliance.

“I do not think there is space for new parties in the DMK alliance,” he told reporters after completing interviews with aspirants for the Lok Sabha polls.

He said since the interviews were over, the election committee would finalise the candidates.

“Seat-sharing with alliance partners will be over in two days,” he said answering another question.

Asked about reports that the DMK was preparing a manifesto that would attract the attention of the nation, Mr. Karunanidhi said, “Wait till its release.”

He said the candidates’ list would provide an answer to the question whether new faces would get a chance to contest.
