No rope car service from May 8 to June 8 in Palani temple

May 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:58 am IST - PALANI:

The rope car service will be suspended between May 8 and June 8 owing to annual maintenance, according to officials in the Palani temple administration here on Wednesday.

Winch services will be available for pilgrims to go to the hill temple and come back. Of the three winches, two will be used for transporting pilgrims and one for transporting materials, especially panchamritham to sales outlets on the hill temple. A special rope car meant for transporting panchamritham was stopped owing to collapse of rope and cabins.
