Students who will be writing the class 11 board examinations as private candidates will be given an exemption from the 10 marks set aside for internal assessment.

A government order released on Thursday said that for private candidates, the marks that they score out of 90 in their final paper will be taken and percentage will be arrived at.

The first batch of students from the State board schools across the State will take up the compulsory class 11 board examinations in March 2018.

A model question paper, which was released earlier this year, stated that 10 marks would be set aside in each subject for attendance, project work and marks scored in internal assessment tests for school students.

Minimum attendance

Furthermore, it was announced that a minimum attendance of 75% was needed for students to sit for the examination.

Students with over 85% attendance would be given 3 marks, while 2 marks would be awarded to those students who have 80 to 85% attendance and those with an attendance record of 75 to 80% would get one mark.
