Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on Tuesday said that he had not received any information on merger talks from the AIADMK (Amma) camp.

Replying to a question on Finance Minister D. Jayakumar’s remarks that opportunity for merger talks between the two factions was still bright, he told newsmen here that he did know anything about it.

Later, he met and consoled the family members of four persons who were killed in a road accident in Periyakulam on July 1. Earlier, he met party cadre and public in Periyakulam.

Former AIADMK Minister R. Viswanathan, who took part in a transport corporation workers’ union function in the morning, reacted sharply to the statement made by Mr. Jayakumar, terming it ‘mere rumour.’
