DMK on Monday asserted that the 2G Spectrum scam did not bring any disrepute to the party and CBI summoning former Telecom Minister A. Raja was nothing extraordinary.

“The scam has not brought any disrepute to the party,” Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi told reporters here.

To a query on CBI summoning Mr. Raja for questioning, the DMK patriarch said it was an “usual practice and nothing extraordinary.”

When asked whether the scam had distanced the Congress from DMK, a key UPA ally, Mr. Karunanidhi said, “Nobody can cut the relationship between both the parties.”

“Our self-respect movement has grown and overcome all such things in the past,” he added.
