Dismissing issues raised by DMK leader M.K. Stalin over the conduct of Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), School Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan said the notification for the examination was issued only after the Supreme Court judgment over the issue.

Since there was a Madras High Court order that TET should be conducted by April this year and the next academic year would commence on June 1, the TET notification was issued on February 24, Mr. Sengottaiyan said in a statement.

The Minister also said those seeking jobs had sufficient time to prepare for the exams.

Mr. Stalin had alleged confusion over conducting TET and further urged the State government to postpone the exams.
