October 15, 2010 01:07 am | Updated 01:07 am IST - CUDDALORE:

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Pattali Makkal Katchi, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Communist parties, along with central trade unions, have lined up a series of agitations in support of the contract workers of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation.

Party leaders, who addressed a public meeting at Neyveli on Wednesday night, said that a delegation of MPs would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Minister of State for Coal Sri Prakash Jaiswal in New Delhi on October 20, 21 and 22 to apprise them of the plight of the contract workers.

They urged the NLC management to reject the pact with the Labour Progressive Front.
