A 19-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging a day after her marriage in Vaniyambadi.

According to the police, Meena, a resident of Maruthuvar Colony in Nethaji Nagar, Vaniyambadi, was married to Govindaraj on April 25.

On April 26, she was found hanging in her parent’s house.

Following a complaint from her mother, Indra, the Vaniyambadi Town police have registered a case.

The Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), Tirupattur, will conduct an inquiry into the death of the girl. Death of a woman within seven years of marriage mandated inquiry by the RDO.
