Baby found abandoned

A newborn boy baby found in the room of a woman working in a knitwear unit in Tirupur was handed over to the District Child Protection Officer, on Saturday.

It is learnt that the mother of the child is a 24-year-old woman employed in a knitwear unit at Thyagi Palanisamy Nagar, in Pooluvapatti.

Preliminary inquiry conducted by the All Woman Police Station (North) revealed that the woman was from a village in Kumbakonam and stayed in a room provided by the unit where she was working.
