A new NCC Naval Unit has been raised at the St. Joseph's College here. It will be attached to the 5 TN Naval Unit NCC, Senior Division – 1, Cuddalore.
A raising ceremony was held at the college campus recently in which the Training Officer, NCC Group Headquarters, Puducherry Lieutenant Colonel A.K. Dutt; Commanding Officer, 5 TN, Naval Unit NCC, Commander M.Anand and College Principal Rev. Dr. A. Sebastian Anand took part.
A total number of 60 senior division cadets would be selected for the new unit which will start functioning from the current academic year. The Care Taker, 5 TN Naval Unit, NCC Dr.V.Bastin Jerome spoke.
