New health officer assumes office

R. Selvakumar has assumed office as the City Health Officer here. He had earlier worked as heath officer at Tirupur Corporation. The post was lying vacant for almost a year with the City Municipal Corporation finding it difficult to identify an officer.

No water supply

Drinking water would not be supplied to city residents on Saturday. A press release from Corporation Commissioner K.R. Selvaraj said that Tangedco has proposed to undertake maintenance work in Mettur where the pumping water station and water treatment plants are located.

Special camp

on Sunday

A special camp would be held in polling booths in the corporation limits on Sunday, to link Aadhaar number with electoral rolls.

Lorry drivers fined

Officials from Regional Transport Office, Tiruchengode, fined lorry drivers for carrying goods beyond the permitted capacity.

During a drive, Rs. 65,000 was collected as fine.
