The arrival of a new fawn at the Mettur Dam Park has brought much delight to the local population and the tourists alike.
A doe has given birth to a fawn at the Dam Park about four days ago.
Tourist attraction
The Mettur Dam Park is a major tourist attraction of Salem district. The park attracts a large number of entertainment-starved people of the western districts during the weekends.
Many residents of the town, along with their children have been visiting the park for the past of couple of days to have a look of the fawn. With the arrival of the fawn, the strength of the deer population has gone up to 11 in the park – buck - 8 and doe - 3, according to park sources.
